Learning Styles

We will be learning about how you learn best and what careers you could pursue by knowing your learning style. You will be taking several tests to get your learning styles. There are many sites listed here and extra tests besides what you need to take for this unit. Use this learning styles checkoff list for your graded assignments.

Learning goal: To learn what learning styles and multiple intelligences are and how it applies to my learning in class.

1. First learning styles test: Load up Education Planner .
   • Take the Learning Styles test , 20 questions, and print out the results.Read your printout and circle the results that you think are things that relate to you.
   • Keep this in your folder after reading it.
     
     
2. Load Learning Styles and Multiple Intelligence http://www.ldpride.net/learning_style_work.html
   • Read about suggestions for each learning style and how you can help yourself learn whether you have a learning disability or not.
   • Jot down notes about suggestions for your learning style on a yellow notecard
   • Put your name on your card and hand in your yellow card.
     
     
3. Open the article about Howard Gardner, a psychologist, and read about how he categorized the 7 multiple intelligences (learning styles).
   • List 10 items on a yellow notecard about him....things that might fascinate you.
     
     
4. Load the Memletics learning styles test

   • This test gives you results of your 7 multiple intelligences or learning styles.
   • Save the Excel test on your flashdrive.
   • Take the inventory test in Excel
   • On your graph, print out your results in graph form. Make sure you put your name on it using a footer. This is an Excel graph so go to Insert/Header and Footer and switch to Footer to type your name.
     
     
5. Load the Learning Styles Online
   • Read and take notes about the 7 multiple intelligences (learning styles) using the yellow notecards .
   • Take notes on either your social or solitary learning style.
   • Take notes on your highest learning style.

Final Project: Essay

You will write an essay about learning styles and you. This is an essay about what you learned about your 3 learning styles as well as all of the 7 multiple intelligences. You have also learned about Howard Gardner and the careers that are associated with each learning style. Explain and analyze what you learned about your learning styles.
